The ESRC SWDTC Collaborative PhD Studentship Scheme

The South West Doctoral Training Centre   and Great Western Research

New Collaborative SWDTC PhD studentships

In January 2011 the Economics and Social Research Council (ESRC) confirmed funding of the new South West Doctoral Training Centre (SWDTC) which brings together the combined strengths of the Universities of Bristol, Exeter and Bath in a consortium to provide doctoral training across the South West of England.

GWR will be working closely with the SWDTC to fund up to 16 collaborative studentships pa from the 2012 student intake.

These new collaborative ESRC-SWDTC studentships, facilitated by GWR require part funding by an External Partner, and applications for these studentships are now being accepted .

If you already have an External Partner who has agreed to participate , please proceed directly to the full on-line application form.

If you have a good research project but do not yet have an External Partner , please fill in the outline application form, and submit it to the SWDTC & GWR. We will then contact you and endeavor to assist you in identifying a suitable partner for your project proposal.

Applications for the second round of Collaborative studentships will close at noon on Friday 26th October  with the final funding decisions made by the SWDTC Academic Advisory Board expected to be announced in December 2012 .
